ISAIAH’S VISION

Seraphim

Before the throne.

Six wings. A covered face. A voice that shakes the thresholds. Isaiah’s vision begins in the presence of God.

Scripture gives the details. Art gives them a visual form.

    SOURCES & APPROACH

    Let the text
    set the boundaries.

This gallery follows the English Standard Version as its scriptural reference. It brings together seven visual studies and two named-angel records. It is a selection of major descriptions, not a complete catalogue of every angelic appearance.

    01

    Every feature has a source.

Each study links visual attributes to specific verses. The summaries are our own paraphrases; ESV.org provides the biblical text.

    02

    An image is an interpretation.

Perspective, proportions, texture, lighting, and unspecified colors require artistic choices. AI-generated illustrations are not exact reconstructions. The detail notes name those choices and any limitations.

    03

    Silence stays silence.

Gabriel and Michael have no detailed physical portraits in their cited passages. Their records therefore use typography instead of invented faces, wings, or armor.

    04

    Keep the visions distinct.

Seraphim, cherubim, Revelation’s living creatures, and Ezekiel’s wheels are not collapsed into one design or a later hierarchy. Daniel’s radiant figure is left unnamed.
